Since 1990, Friends School of Minnesota has held an annual fundraiser: a plant sale. What started as a two-page catalog and a few hundred plants has since transformed into the largest volunteer-run plant sale fundraiser in the country, with over 250,000 plants in thousands of different varieties.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and out of our concern for the health and safety of our customers and volunteers, the difficult decision was made to cancel the 2020 sale. More information and FAQs on the cancellation are on the sale’s 2020 FAQ page. That FAQ includes a list of places where you can find retail locations for some of our plants!

The Seed Sale website was created by one of our alum students to help offset some of the losses from the Plant Sale using the seeds that had already been ordered and received. All proceeds from the Seed Sale, just like the Plant Sale, go to Friends School of Minnesota.

Friends School of Minnesota is a K–8 progressive education, Quaker school in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood of Saint Paul. If you would like to give a donation to help offset the school’s losses from the sale’s cancellation, we would greatly appreciate it. (You can also make a donation at the same time as you purchase seeds.) Your donations help make our school more accessible to students from families of all economic backgrounds. Thank you!
